OUR FOUR PILLARS - A TAILORED APPROACH TO VETERAN NEEDS

1. COMMUNITY

PL1 Civvy Street is more than just a space; it's a community built for veterans by veterans. Here, you'll find a welcoming environment where you can connect with like-minded individuals, share your experiences, and discuss anything you wish in full confidence.

We strive to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported, fostering a sense of camaraderie and understanding among those who choose to take advantage of our fantastic services.

2. SIGNPOSTING

Caseworkers will provide support however it is needed. We have a database of charities and what support they can offer, and we will assess your needs and requirements. Once this is established, they will arrange a follow-up meeting to ensure any forms are completed correctly, phone calls are made to the right people, or charities are made aware of the needs.

PL1 Civvy St is here to ‘enable’ you. There will be an element of hand-holding for those who need it, but as very able veterans, we don’t want to do it all for you. If you need help, of course, ask. We are here to help and ensure you get the help you need and deserve.

3. EDUCATION & RESETTLEMENT

Are you looking for a new role? Are you looking to gain new skills through training to advance your career? Are you getting back into work or just looking at what is out there? Our jobs board has vacancies available, and these will have key skills requirements.

If you don’t have these, don’t worry. We can look at the charity space and local training providers and establish if courses are available to veterans to upskill and allow you to apply for those roles.

We have agreements with some of the country's biggest employers to place veterans within their organisations. Please remember that you have skills employers need in their business, which you developed while in uniform, and you can transfer these to civvy street.

4. HOMELESS & ROUGH SLEEPERS

PL1 Civvy Street can support those who need anything from mobile phone charge-ups to sleeping bags, clothing or food. We can also help you navigate the process of getting re-housed and provide the support you need to stay housed for good.

We offer a comprehensive program to help individuals transition into stable housing. This includes training in essential life skills like cooking and budgeting, job training to secure employment, and interview coaching with appropriate clothing provided.

We understand that change takes commitment, and our program is here for those who are ready to take control of their future.
